The vision for the IAMP

The vision for IAMP is to develop a 150 hectare site, close to the A19 and A1, for a nationally significant and internationally respected location for advanced manufacturing and European-scale supply chain industries. It will be a planned and sustainable employment location that maximises links with Nissan and other high value automotive industries, including around 392,000 sq.m of commercial space, set alongside new infrastructure and services.

IAMP will not only create over 5,000 new jobs in the region and unlock over £400 million of private investment, it will help underpin the continued success of the automotive and manufacturing sectors in the North East and across the UK.

The IAMP ONE application seeks permission for up to nine specialist automotive and manufacturing units. The plans include a new road link from the A1290, associated car parking, service yards, access, landscaping and drainage ponds. The units will be located within the southern area of IAMP within Sunderland City Council’s boundary.

The buildings will be designed to achieve a high quality design. The buildings will have a maximum height of 25m, ensuring sufficient space is provided for internal operations.
